I will create a poster or small illustration that can be framed, something tactile and commemorative that he can put up somewhere/ on a desk etc. This illustration can then be used for something else if I have time, e.g. a proposed tea towel etc.

The tone of voice will be fun and celebratory - victorious! Acknowledging his completion of the project and raising so much money for charity.

Audience will mainly be Dan, however it has been briefed by Julian, a friend of Dan, as a surprise for him, so it will also need to impress and fulfill his expectations for the illustration. It will probably be used in Dan's household so the audience will not be broad, however it will need to be child friendly (which will not be a problem for this particular brief) etc so that it can be around the house!

Run the World; Dan is running a 10k in every country that participates in the Olympics, spread over a couple of years, he is mid way through. My illustration must celebrate the project by including symbols of the countries, continents, number of miles etc.

Reference photographs of Dan.
What style would be best? Digital may look more professional... may look best a bit simpler and graphic style shape and colour based to look less like a drawn birthday card and more like an award style of illustration? May add a clean cut professional look if I use analogue processes to start off with and then editing it and perhaps adding colour using a digital programme such as Photoshop.

1 Celebratory illustration for the Run the World project.
Can be any size, I am thinking a small A5 and then a larger one; in this case creating it digitally would definitely be more appropriate and less time consuming.
