I decided to tackle this brief in the new media I wanted to experiment with: Crayola!
I was inspired by this artist, fashion illustrator, that I looked at previously on my Tumblr blog:
I thought this would suit this brief as its quick to use and spontaneous and expressive to draw with. I thought it would be great to use lots of colour and quick line work to reflect the vibrance and life at Leeds College of Art. I also wanted to reflect the broad range of subjects and activities available at the college, some that you wouldn't expect! I also wanted to make sure I included boys and girls and a sense of collaboration or atleast working around others and tutors influence and help on our work.
Here are a few samples of my sketches from today:
I used the LCA Facebook Page photographs to work from as reference but I worked very loosely from them.
For my final illustrations I obviously will edit them digitally first to ensure all outliers (marks) are removed and line quality and colour is as best as possible, While also making them RGB for viewing online.
