On Monday we were informed of a new potential brief for Crispin Orthotics which was in short; to create some new designs that they can use to decorate equipment which aids in supporting or movement such as prosthetics.

As soon as I heard about it I thought this really connected with my previous thoughts for my Studio Brief 10 for Arthritis awareness. The full meeting for this brief is next Wednesday but as it stands I am really interested in participating!
I have done some research on current designs and there are some cool ones out there but not very many. I found a company on instagram called 'alleles' which did quite cool sci-fi style ones. I am not a very sci fi illustrator so I think for my own designs I will target cute pictures like ones of animals etc because everyone is either a dog or a cat person and I would personally enjoy making my prosthetic or crutch etc attention seeking because its cute, not because its 'strange' or boring grey etc.
I am also very interested in putting paralympians and other inspirational people on the designs... I think this would be really great because every day you would be reminded that it is still possible to achieve and overcome challenges- I just think for darker moments when you really dont want to be different, you can look at the design and think - 'they did it. so can i'.
